We are a very diverse, informal, friendly, group of recumbent bicycle enthusiasts who would love for you to ride with us. Just pick a ride from the ride announcements, load up your bike and show up.
We accommodate all speeds. You will not be left behind if you participate in one of our weekend rides whether you are fast or slow.
We also have an optional meet up at various local restaurants after the rides. If you are a South Florida recumbent rider or just visiting, come on out and join us.
We have a regularly scheduled ride on Saturday mornings at 8:30 am. We usually have a group starting from Boynton Ocean Inlet Park and sometimes another group starting at Bryant Park in Lake Worth. We ride north or south depending on the wind direction. Join our Google+ circle for date, time, and location of our next ride or email us here. We use Google+ to discuss our rides and to share our love of recumbent cycling. Please join Google+ and we will welcome you to our discussion "circle" and help get you started. We have a "community" on Google+ that has become our dynamic public site. We encourage you to get a free Google account and join us there. Click here to visit us there. |

Cat Herding Recumbents We had a great ride today in spite of a rather discombobulated start. Some of us at Boynton Inlet and some at Lake Worth but we all ended up together and headed north through the back streets of Lake Worth. We crossed over to the island on the Southern Boulevard Bridge and rode on using our usual route up to the inlet. Stops at the clock, the inlet, the gas station and then a fast ride south with the wind at our back. I'll post my GPS data after this. Carl started out with us. He's still recovering from a bug and said he was riding poorly. Well, poorly for Carl is faster than the rest of us ...

Scary Monsters by Russ The only thing scarier than seeing Carl at 7 on a dark, late October morning is seeing him framed by sideways palm trees from the 25 mph winds. That’s enough to make any rider cringe. There were more than a few “what are we doing here” comments Sunday morning (well, not much more than a few; there were only 5 of us!). But hey, it’s not a job, it’s an adventure so away we went into the teeth of the booming gale (that’s a literary reference; Google it!). The thing is, adventures are usually very disagreeable things to those having them; only afterwords do they brag about them. The first gut check that Carl, Bill, Bob ...

Homestead Speedway Century ...and now for something a little different by Russ GriesemerWell, as Monty Python would say, "...and now for something a little different...". No, wait, that's not right... Anyway, a ride was ridden today with some of the usual suspects but not in the usual place. The venue was the Everglades Bicycle Club's 2011 Speedway Century at Homestead Speedway and the riders were Bill, myself, George, Carlos, Les, John and John's friend Ira. Our bent contingent was pretty much dwarfed by the 300+ DF'ers that showed up for this organized ride, but we got nothing but encouragement from everyone we saw today. I had spent the week working on my bike. I decided to recline the ...

It's Cool. Let's Ride. Thursday, October 20, 2011. Instead of the usual 80 degree temps with 90 percent humidity this day dawned in the upper 60's with low humidity. After three days of torrential rains and overcast skies it was time to ride. Carl and Ginny started at the Boynton Ocean Inlet Park and rode north to Lake Worth Beach where I joined them. The cool air and low humidities inspired us to pick up the pace and enjoy the cool air. I had a flat on the beach stretch just after the Southern Boulevard traffic circle. As luck would have it the flat was on the front and the tube was changed out quickly with help from Carl as Ginny observed ...
